General Welsh became Dean of the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M in August 2016 upon retirement after completing his term as the 20^th Chief of Staff of the  Air Force. He was born in San Antonio and graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy. His  most recent previous post was as Commander of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Commander  of NATO’s Air Command.
