Growing up a Texican

Amos McDonald is a sixth generation Texan, a native Spanish speaker, the father of two boys, and has been married to his wife Jen since 2003.  He was born in Laredo, TX and moved many places throughout his childhood.  He attended 9 different schools between K-8, then decided to enroll in the last high school Seminary in the United States, St. Anthony’s in San Antonio, TX.  At 14 he moved out of his parents’ house and into the dorms at St. Anthony’s, and the next 4 years shaped his passion for serving the community. 

McDonald obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University and his Master’s Degree from Western Governor’s University.  He has over 20 years of banking experience, currently serving as the Market President for BBVA in The Brazos Valley.  He has lobbied in Washington DC and Austin, TX, led marketing and communications teams, managed an Economic Development Corporation and a Small Business Development Center, oversaw a higher education foundation, and is an adjunct professor.  

He currently serves on the boards for the following organizations: Habitat for Humanity Bryan/College Station, The Brazos Valley Affordable Housing Corporation, and Chairs the Heart of Texas American Red Cross.
